Staying on Track: Calorie Counting

Calorie Counting. Yes, it's a pain, but if you are not used to dieting it a total necessity. You'll be surprised at how fast calories rack up and where they come from once you start keeping track.

I used the Lose It! app for iPhone/iPod touch. It's a really great tool to keep track of calories taken in and calories burned off my exercise. And since it's on your phone/iPod you can take it with you everywhere very easily. See the sample screenshot above.

The app lets you input current weight, desired weight, and weight loss speed (it does let you choose anything faster than 2 pounds per week). From these inputs it tells you how many calories you may have per day, if you don't exercise. Of course, if you workout, that more you get to eat. ... kinda makes it easier to understand exercise bulimics. "I can have that cookie if I run in place for 15 minutes..."
